Kathrin Hahn, Geigenbaumeisterin, was born on July 20th, 1965 in Southwest Germany.
1985 she moved to Italy attending the Parma Violin Making School until 1990.
During this period she made twenty four instruments, participating in the Cremona Triennial Competition with a violoncello and in the International Competition of Mittenwald with a viola.
From 1990 to 1999 she gained working experience as a maker and repairer of string instruments in Germany, with Tobias Festl’s World of Basses (Reutlingen, specialised on double basses) and Reinhard Fischer (Hamburg, repairing and restoration). Since 1999 she has been running her own workshop in Hamburg where she specialized on the violoncello.
