Dario Segala was born on February 14th, 1960 in Sermide (MN). After completing high school he attended the Civic School of Violin making in Milan until 1983 with M° Renato Scrollavezza.
From 1983, for a period of four years, he attended the master classes held by master Jürgen Von Stietencron during the “Musicariva” Festival at Riva del Garda.
He lives and works in Verbania where he makes violins, violas and cellos; he also repairs and restores all string instruments.
In 1987 during the 1st national Competition held at Baveno he won the Foschi Prize awarded to the youngest finalist.
In 1989 he partecipated in the international competition in Mittenwald where he arrived in tenth place with a violin and sixth place with a cello.
He arrived in fourth place with a cello and seventh place with a violin at the 2nd national competition held in Baveno in 1989.
In the 5th Baveno competition in 1995 he was ninth with a violin.
In the national Bagnacavallo competition in 1996 he won third place with a viola.
In 1997 he partecipated in the national competition in Baveno where he won third prize with a violin.
In 1999 he won first prize with a cello at the national Baveno competition.
